Get Involved!

Bath City Pastors is powered by volunteers—ordinary people with a heart to care for others. Whether you're drawn to walk the streets, pray behind the scenes, or support us in other ways, there's a place for you here.

Become a

City Pastor

Join our weekend patrols and be a visible presence of care in Bath’s nightlife. You’ll offer practical help, emotional support, and a listening ear to anyone in need.

What you’ll do:

  • Carry essentials like flip-flops, water, and blankets

  • Help people get home safely

  • Offer kindness, prayer, and reassurance

Training is provided, and you’ll always patrol as part of a team.

Become a

Prayer Pastor

Prefer to support from behind the scenes? Prayer Pastors stay in touch with patrol teams throughout the night, offering spiritual encouragement and praying for those they meet.

You can serve from home, your church, or our base location. It’s a vital role that keeps our teams grounded and supported.

Support in

Other Ways

Not ready to volunteer just yet? You can still make a difference:

  • Donate: Help us fund supplies, training, and outreach

  • Spread the word: Share our mission with your church or community

  • Invite us to speak: We’d love to visit your group and share what we do

Further information

  • The first step is to join one of our team as an Observer, so that you can see for yourself what is involved. After this, if you feel that being a City Pastor is for you, then you will be asked to complete an application pack and undergo training. Once this process is completed you will be issued with a uniform, as a fully-fledged City Pastor.

  • We ask that all City Pastors have an active faith in Jesus Christ. Christians from all denominations and groups are welcome.

  • Your first commitment will be to the induction training programme which you will be invited to attend following your observation shifts. This is important in preparing team members for their role on the streets. Further on-the-job training is provided through the year for all City Pastors.

Once you join the team, we ask City Pastors to commit to patrolling once a month, for a minimum of 18 months. We recognise that personal or external circumstances may mean that this is not always possible; however, it is important (for the sake of the team and the individual) to serve as regularly as possible.

  • We won’t charge you to join City Pastors but the combined cost of induction training and provision of a uniform comes to around £50, so we ask all new City Pastors to consider contributing to this cost. We strongly suggest that where possible you approach your Church and ask for their support, ideally as a regular giving commitment. However, inability to contribute to the costs will not prevent you joining the team.
